Sebastian Benkel was born in Bremen.
He started playing the trumpet at age 7 and joined the "Theater 62" a year afterwards.
First polyphonic experience was gathered when he became a member of the St. Ansgarii brass ensemble Bremen aged 13.
During a school exchange year in the USA in 2002 he joined the Youth Simphony Orchestra Oshkosh and stated singing in a school choir.
Following his return, he joined several regional choirs, including the St. Pauli Kantorei Bremen, the Bremer Knabenchor and the chamber choir of the School of Arts Bremen.
After graduating from secondary school he spend a voluntary social year at a children's home for the handicapped . He went on to study physics at the University of Bremen, which he later changed to chemistry. He took up singing lessons from Elke Holzman and was supported by the Crescendo Bremen e.V.
Today he is a Student of chemnistry at the University Bremen.
