Lukas Kumai was born in Detmold(North Rhine-Westphalia) as the son of an oboist and a bassoonist.
He started singing in choirs aged 10, joining different ones in his hometown.
In 2001 he moved to Bremen to get his Degree in computer science and started working as research assistant afterwords.
He joined the chamber choir of the School of Arts Bremen in 2006.
Today he works as computer scientist and lecturer.
Lukas Kumai is Managing Director of Pro Vocant and second tenor.
